Roasted nuts

Hi All! We Indians love our dry fruits. I mean it’s one thing to like them, and a whole another thing to love them! and we fall in the second category. We cannot even think to prepare our dishes without them. It’s the way we make them special. I mean, you would find it across biriyanis/sweets/pulavs/gravies/Kheer or any other food. Hell, we even snack on them when possible. I’m mean they taste amazing and who can blame us? Today, am going to share an easy recipe with you that involves our love for dry fruits. The recipe is so simple that you would hardly take about 15 minutes to make it and if you would not control, they will be gone in 5 😛 So let’s jump in and prepare this Healthy Indian style roasted nuts

Dish: Healthy Indian style roasted nuts
Served as: Snack
Vegetarian/Nonvegetarian: Vegetarian
Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients Required for Roasted Nuts:

  • Cashewnut: 250 grams
  • Almonds: 250 grams
  • Salt-1-2 tea spoon (based on taste)
  • Paprika powder: 1-2 tea spoon (based on taste)
  • Black pepper powder: 1 tea spoon
  • Oil: 1-2 table spoon

Method 1: Using a frying pan

  • In a frying pan, add 2 tablespoon of oil
  • As the oil heats up, add the parika powder and reduce the flame. Do not inhale the fumes here as you would end up in a coughing fit
  • Add the salt according to taste
  • To this oil and spice mix, add the cashewnuts and almonds. Mix well
  • Add the pepper powder and mix well
  • Increase the flam and stir he content
  • Stir the mix until you start hearing small pops. Do stir continuesly for about 5 minutes.
  • Stop when you notice that the almonds and cashews are crispy
  • Let this mix cool down. You will notice that this healthy indian style roasted nuts will become crisp as it cools down
  • Store in an air tight container

Method 2: Using an air fryer

  • Pre heat the airfryer at 200 degrees for about 4-5 minutes
  • In a bowl, mix together the nuts, paprika, salt, black pepper powder and about 1/2 or 1 table spoon of oil
  • Place this healthy Indian stye nut mix in the air fryer rack and roast for 10-12 minutes in 200 degrees
  • Every 3 minutes or so, do take out the air fryer rack and shake the mix
  • Store as previously mentioned
