Confused Italian Pasta

Confused by the name? Well what happens when white sauce pasta meets red Italian sauce spaghetti? Well you get the holy moly Confused Italian Pasta. This pasta has the rich creaminess that comes with white sauce and the inherent tanginess of rich tomatoes. Its an acquired taste, but once you acquire it, you would not leave it alone! Lets jump in

Ingredients Required For Confused Italian Pasta:

  • Spaghetti: 200 grams
  • Penne Pasta: 100 grams
  • Butter: 50 grams
  • Milk: Half liter
  • Tomato puree: 200 grams
  • Cheese: 150 Grams
  • Garlic (Chopped) : 5-7 pods
  • Olive Oil: 5 table spoon
  • Olives: 7-8, diced
  • All purpose flour: 2 teaspoon
  • Basil: 2-3 leaves
  • Mushroom: 50 grams
  • Sweet corn kernel: 50 grams
  • Capsicum: 50 grams
  • Tomato Sauce: 2 teaspoon
  • Oregano: To taste
  • Chill Flakes: To taste
  • Salt: To taste
  • Water: 2 liters

Method to make :

  • Boil the water in 2 batches with salt and 1 table spoon of oil in both and salt.
  • Add the pasta, spaghetti separately and cook them well
  • In a deep-dish pan add the butter and garlic. Cook it well until the butter gets fragrant
  • Add the all purpose flour and let it brown
  • Now add the milk to it, add in cheese and let it simmer
  • Once the sauce thickens, lower the flame add the puree in batches and the basil leaf
  • Heat 3 table spoon of oil in a pan, add all the vegetables in and stir-fry them
  • Add the vegetables to the sauce and mix well
  • Now add the pasta, spaghetti and olives to the mix and stir well
  • The confused Italian pasta is ready to serve
  • Garnish with oregano and chilli flakes

You can enjoy the pasta with red wine as they complement the taste pallets
